Jewelry Holder

First off, I am SO not crafty. For a while I loved rubber stamping and card making because I just copied what someone else created. I’ve done some scrapbooking, again, mostly copying.

Lately, I’ve had a bug to “Craft.” Not jump into a little hobby, but jump into the world of Crafting with a capital C. What has gotten into me?

I’ve been utilizing Google Reader to its fullest. I’m currently following 76 blogs…everything from gardening to organization, the local news, and my new favorite…home decorating. I’m not even sure that’s what I’d call it. These ladies have beautiful homes, no doubt about it. The amazing thing is they Do It Themselves. The put the Holy-Shmolly in DIY.

Sometimes these projects are knock offs from expensive designers. Other times they are from the brains of these bloggers. Wow!

So, I’m hoping I can apply my copying crafting skills. Here are a few on my l-o-n-g list of “to dos.”

The picture at the top of this post is from Centsational Girl. It’s a jewelry holder using an old picture frame, fabric or scrapbook paper, chicken wire, spray paint and some foam core. I seriously think I can do this. Really. I’m trying to convince myself here..

The laundry room isn’t my favorite place to spend my time. don’t get me wrong. I’m thankful to have a laundry ROOM as opposed to a laundry closet like we had in our last house. However, our laundry room is blah, plain, just…, well it’s just. Somewhere (apartmenttherapy.com? I looked but I can’t find it.) I saw an idea to spray paint basic wooden clothes pins and use them as drawer pulls in your laundry room. Simple Simon, right? I’ve decided to decorate my house in Coastal Chic (I know…so 3.7 years ago). I bought a bunch of spray paint in coastal colors and I blew a whopping 4.87 on a big bag of clothes pins. I just need screws or nails and I’m ready to roll. I think the laundry room is a great place to experiment, don’t you?

How about you? Do you have any DIY Crafts with a capital C? Please post the url below. I would love to take a look!

PS-If you don’t have a radio or CD player in your laundry room, you simply MUST remedy this situation.
